Looks We're Loving: SPRING

With the weather finally warming up and spring on its way, I wanted to dive into my current favorite pieces for the nice weather as well as pieces that I think will be hot in the upcoming months.

Outfit #1:

Overall shorts are a super simple, easy piece to style around. Whether you pair it with a cute sweater or a tank top, you can’t go wrong. I love these black overalls from Old Navy, especially with the contrast of the yellow on the Abercrombie & Fitch varsity sweater. Lately, the black motorcycle boots from Lulu’s have been my favorite finishing touch to any outfit.

Outfit #2:

I can’t emphasize enough the endless outfits that can be styled around a simple black miniskirt. Wearing one that makes you feel confident and beautiful is the best way to elevate any outfit; my favorite is from Motel Rocks. I am also currently loving adding in metallics and metal pieces into my outfits. This adorable thrifted top includes silver rimmed holes on the neckline and sleeves and adds a super cool, edgy factor to a pretty basic shirt. Again, pairing it with my favorite boots completes the look.

Outfit #3:

Red is one of my favorite colors to wear and one I think will continue to be big this season. This beautiful thrifted Eli Lilly Jacket is perfect to add if you want a pop of color. I am also loving denim on denim -- it is such a classic fabric to wear. A baggy jean, such as the thrifted Walmart ones I am wearing, is a staple in your closet that can be worn in a million different ways. While the jacket is the star of the show, a good basic tank to layer under is just as crucial; the one I’m wearing is Brandy Melville.  Having good basics can take any outfit to the next level. The thrifted shoes incorporate some red and make the outfit feel balanced.

Outfit #4:

Sweaters and skirts with interesting shapes and textures are some of my most worn clothing items. This sheer, off the shoulder sweater from H&M and the lace, asymmetrical skirt from Urban Outfitters elevate outfits with their cool fabrics and eye-catching silhouettes. Adding my staple Lulu’s boots is the perfect finishing touch.

Outfit #5:

I love mixing comfort with fashion in order to create outfits that I will wear over and over. This super baggy band T-shirt from Urban Outfitters is super fun to repurpose as a dress due to the length and shape. To elevate it, I like to wear this thrifted slip skirt underneath to add a lace detail and a contrasting material. The knee high thrifted leather boots make the outfit seem more dressed up, but for more of a casual look, add a sneaker. I think adding eyewear is a fun detail to include, so I like to wear these blue light glasses from Amazon.

Outfit #6:

I love an edgy look especially for dinner with friends or nights out. These maroon shorts from Hot Haus Market are the star of the show with their leather fabric and lace up detail. I added a simple gray Banana Republic turtleneck to dress down the look and let the shorts shine. To incorporate a fun piece on top while still letting the shorts’ color stand out, I decided to wear a beautiful fur lined leather coat from Goodwill. I decided to go with my beloved Lulu’s boots again to finish off the look.

Outfit #7:

Statement accessories add so much to an otherwise simple outfit. This basic white top from TJ Maxx paired with my favorite black jorts from Levi’s is the perfect base for a fun belt and bag. My cheetah print bag is from Urban Outfitters and this pink sparkly, diamond filled belt is from Amazon. The combination of the two with my Lulu boots takes a rather boring outfit and elevates it into something eye-catching and unique.

Outfit #8:

The office chic aesthetic is definitely going to continue to be big in upcoming months. This adorable sweater from Old Navy, paired with a white, bow-detailed Brandy Melville top is such a cute example of how to layer pieces. The thrifted cheetah print skirt adds an interesting print while still being sophisticated and stylish, giving it that office girl look. To complete the outfit, I added knee high leather boots.

Outfit #9:

My favorite print right now is cheetah. In upcoming months I think animal prints are going to be super big; cheetah, zebra, or snake skin pieces will be nice to incorporate into your outfits. This top is thrifted and is one of my favorite tops in my closet. I love pairing a corset with a black bolero to take a more sexy piece and give it a fun, feminine look; mine is from Amazon. This simple black mini skirt from Unif includes a safety pin design that adds a cool detail to a more monochrome outfit. My trusty black boots from Lulu’s completes the look.

Outfit #10:

To finish off the lookbook, I wanted to style a simple, everyday outfit. Again, the pop of red on this cute thrifted tank is a staple in my closet. I paired it with my favorite thrifted baggy jeans, which just completes the comfortable but cute vibe of the outfit. I could see myself wearing this to class or even just to hang out with friends, and the Lulu’s boots add a more edgy vibe to the otherwise basic outfit that I love.
