Hey there! My name is Mackie Schroeter, and I’m a stylist for SEASON. I’m super excited to be writing here! In SEASON, you can find me pulling clothes at local stores, helping get models ready on photoshoot days, jumping into the frame to make sure that dress is laying jusssst right, and making memories with such an amazing group of people!

With the start of the year fast approaching, I’m always excited to shop for everything back-to-school (it’s the fresh start that I CRAVE). And as much as I enjoy buying pencils and notebooks, these 5 items are what I really have my eye on.

I love these looks because they don’t fit in just one style category – they’re ~different~ and still nuanced (how I would describe my personal style as a whole).

I hope you find a bit of inspiration and motivation to start off this school year on the right foot! If you like what find here, check out my Instagram @macschro

(I promise you’ll get your share of mirror pics, don’t say I didn’t warn you)

Brown Corduroy Button-Down Shirt (Urban Outfitters)

This shirt is the definition of effortless! It is the perfect transitional piece for going into Fall. Wear it buttoned down or open as a second layer, plus this color will match with denim and/or your favorite floral dress (trust me)!

Grey Oversized Blazer (Topshop at Nordstrom)

If you ask my friends what I have too many of, they would probably *definitely* say blazers. To me, a blazer is like a sweatshirt, and I’m not ashamed to say it. Pair it with a graphic tee for class, dress it up for a career fair, or make it a going out look by wearing just a bralette underneath. The possibilities are endless!

Navy Suede Chukka Boots (Von Maur)

If I haven’t said this already, I’ll say it now: I am so ready for fall, and these boots are proof of it! Pairing a more muted look with a fun and colorful shoe is one of my favorite ways to style an outfit. Plus, since the heel is flat, these will get me all around campus without my feet killing me. YAY.

Mom Jeans (Urban Outfitters)

I know. I know. I know. I will admit I am a bit late to the game here in how long it took me to get mom jeans. But here I am, and that’s all that counts! If you’ve been holding out too and haven’t bought a style besides your traditional skinny jeans, I highly recommend you grab a pair – STAT. They add a different feeling to all the shirts you already have in your closet, and they give your legs just a bit of room to breathe this summer. Pair with a tucked-in tank top, belt, and sandals for a relaxed look that will take you anywhere in comfort.

Cheetah Print Dress (Topshop at Nordstrom)

It’s cheetah and it’s not a midi skirt – everyone stay calm. Back-to-school means back-to-going-out-with-friends, and this dress will be making an appearance. Pair with a faux leather jacket and black Doc Martens for a look that is both grungy and feminine.
